“That someone can be so happy with a tidy garden and some pruning touches me.”

‘We thought it would be nice to help someone else with things we like to do,’ says Job Mulder of the company Xsens. Together with his colleagues, he has renovated the garden of Carola*. The fence was broken and the tiles had subsided over the years. Moreover, the greenery had taken on a life of its own. Carola cannot possibly solve this herself because of her psychological and physical problems and lack of her own network. Fortunately, her companion from JP van den Bentstichting was familiar with Present. A match was made with Job and his colleagues.

Job explains: ‘Our employer Xsens made it possible to carry out this project during working hours in cooperation with Present. This makes it easy for us as a company in terms of organisation. It was the first time that we did a project via Present. It touches me that someone is so happy with a tidy garden and some pruning work. That goes without saying for me, but if you can’t do it yourself, it’s very nice when there’s someone there to help you.
